Who's Who
Kev Williams - Guitars
Kev hooked up with Final Demand at its resurrection in January 2002. Prior to joining the band, Kev played guitar with Trebanos based outfit No Sleep (laterly - The Whistlefish) performing sloppy, earnest pub rock with a succession of great musicians.
Kev's musical influences include the Mighty
Quo, The Stones, Tom Petty, Lizzy, Squeeze and others too numerous to mention, while his non musical interests all seem to include alcholol to some level between small and garguantuan - and of course following West Ham United FC.
Most interesting time :– More surreal really. A kid asked for my plectrum after a gig (he must have mistaken me for a proper musician or something). I then saw him months later and he still had it with him. I told him he should seek medical help !
Fav. Singer :– Noddy Holder
Fav. Musician :– The vastly underrated Francis Rossi.
Ian Evans - Drums
Ian is a founder member of the original Final Demand. He approached Rob all those many moons ago to form the band after seeing him perform a vocal of "House of the Rising Sun" in a Pontardawe pub. Ian had been on the club circuit for a while but wanted to get a more mainstream rock band together. He contacted Rob - and Final Demand was born!
Ian has a diverse interest in music ranging from the technicalities of prog rock bands Camel, Pendragon and Wishbone Ash to the raucous sounds of Slade & AC/DC - whilst not forgetting the legendary Who !
Most interesting time :– Being in a round with Kev at a Larry Miller Band show - it may well have been a gas, but it was most certainly a blur !
Fav. Singer :– Noddy Holder
Fav. Musician :– Andy Latimer (guitarist with Camel)
Gus Williams - Vocals & Bass
Along with Kev and Chris, Gus also joined forces wiith Final Demand at its resurrection in January 2002. Gus was previously part of the Swansea 3-piece band Ranka-Chanka which ceased gigging back in 1998, and so jumped at the chance to team up with some old school mates (& teachers) in Final Demand when the chance came.
Gus' musical influences are wide and varied and include anything from the Beatles to modern day punk bands, whilst his non musical interests include many types of sports, and of course trying to keep a respectable distance behind Kev in the drinking stakes.
Most interesting time :– Without being too specific, I can never forget a gig at a particular rugby club once where all the guys decided to hitch up their shirts and rub their belllys together on the dance floor. You know who you are !!
Fav. Singer :– John Lennon, John Fogerty
Fav. Musician :– All the thousands out there who are better than me!
Chris Price - Guitars
Chris came into Final Demand at the same time as Kev and Gus at the bands rebirth in January 2002. Previously he was in the Swansea (Morriston) based 4-piece band Ouch Monkey!
Chris' musical influences include Rush, Queensryche and Iron Maiden - ooff, heavy !
His non musical interests include following Arsenal FC and watching various television series from the USA ( especially Entourage and Oz ).
Most interesting time :– Whilst travelling home from a Gig in Cheltenham with Kev, we pulled in for a break at the services and were confronted by a naked male in his hotel window waving to us to join him in his room. Needless to say his kind offer was declined.
Fav. Singer :– Serj Tankian (from System of a Down)
Fav. Musician :– Joe Satriani
Rob Stevens - Vocals
Rob developed his rock singing with a slot in the set of a young Morriston Comprehensive band "The Rotary Tissots" and fronted a version of the band known as "The Juddy Johnson Band" in tours of North Wales. When the band split to go off to University, Rob did a 6 month stint with a North Wales band called "Ratz Alley" - at the time one of the most
popular bands in the region. Following that, and back in Swansea, Rob teamed up with Ian and formed the original "Final Demand". The rest, as they say, is history.
His musical influences are wide - including The Beatles, Small Faces, The Who, Soul and Tamla Motown (particularly Otis Redding and The Temptations) & Punk
Most interesting time :– Various Rock & Roll moments - most I can't repeat !
Fav. Singer :– Bonnie Tyler, Chrissie Hynes, Amy Winehouse, Katherine Jenkins, Gary Pickford-Hopkins, Otis Redding, Noddy Holder, Stevie Marriot, Elkie Brooks, Willie Nelson, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, John Lennon
Fav. Musician :– Stevie Marriot, Keith Moon, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray "Taff" Williams
